Saskatchewan recognizes Skilled Trade and Technology Week (November 2–8), a time to highlight opportunities in these sectors. Apprentices and skilled tradespeople are highly sought after in the province. Skills Canada Saskatchewan is raising awareness through its online campaign, Building Saskatchewan's Future through Skills, and provides educators with resources about in-demand trades and training opportunities. The Saskatchewan Youth Apprenticeship program encourages students to explore trades, with benefits including waived fees and trade time hours for participants who register as apprentices. Turning to innovation in our industries, our government recently announced nine industry-led projects under the second intake of the Saskatchewan Technology Fund. These projects advance emissions reductions through carbon capture, energy efficiency and other technologies across key sectors including oil, gas and potash. The fund helps keep investment, innovation and jobs in Saskatchewan. To date, the fund has supported 22 projects, leveraging $629.4 million in private investment and eliminating over six million tonnes of CO2e emissions. In our continued work to strengthen health care access, patients in southern Saskatchewan now benefit from a new state-of-the-art robot-assisted surgical system at Regina’s Pasqua Hospital. This expansion complements existing systems in Saskatoon and provides less invasive procedures, faster recovery and reduced wait times. The new technology supports a wide range of procedures including cancer care closer to home. With more than 300 procedures expected annually, the system represents Saskatchewan’s commitment to innovative, patient-centered care.

Education plays a key role in shaping Saskatchewan's future. Saskatchewan’s post-secondary institutions will receive $250 million in additional operating funding over the next four years through a new multi-year funding agreement. The agreement also includes a three per cent annual increase in operating grants, helping institutions plan for long-term growth. University and college leaders have praised the agreement, highlighting its impact on student success, Indigenous-led programming and workforce development across the province.

Ensuring Saskatchewan families are safe, secure and supported remains a priority. Our government introduced the Inter-Jurisdictional Support Orders Amendment Act, 2025, implementing the Hague Maintenance Convention to enforce child support across national and international borders. This legislation provides additional tools to create and enforce child support orders across boundaries, ensuring that our children are provided with the support they need to succeed in life.

Supporting First Nation and Métis communities in Saskatchewan continues to be an important focus. Our government will provide $124.5 million in gaming revenue payments to First Nation and Métis organizations for the 2025-26 fiscal year, an increase of $17.1 million over last year. These funds, generated from Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority casinos, SaskGaming properties, and PlayNow.com, support programs, cultural projects and community initiatives. This will directly support enterprises that contribute to our strong First Nation and Métis communities in Saskatchewan.

Building on our commitment to community engagement and safe public events, Saskatchewan is taking steps to enhance recreational experiences for residents and visitors alike. The Tailgating Act was introduced to enable responsible tailgating at Mosaic Stadium during Saskatchewan Roughriders home games. Our government’s shared goal is to set the standard for how tailgating can be done safely and responsibly in Saskatchewan. Fans, city officials and the team are eager to see the positive community impact this new framework will bring, with the enhanced game-day experience expected to come into effect in 2026.

November calls us to remember the men and women who have bravely served our country. This year marks the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War, during which more than one million Canadians served and 45,000 were killed. Our government stands with military families, honouring the courage and sacrifice of Canadian service members – those who served, those who continue to serve and those who gave their lives defending our freedoms.

As the fall legislative session continues, I am honoured to represent your best interests. I am proud to work alongside a government focused on keeping Saskatchewan strong, safe and secure while delivering on the priorities outlined in the Throne Speech.
