A Summer of Events and Anticipation
Summer is in full swing. Students are out of school and the long lazy days of summer are underway. That is of course unless you are one of the many volunteers that keep our communities running. For everyone involved in the planning and execution of one of the many community events, the season is just starting to heat up.
Whether it is the summer reading program at the local library, planning adventures to keep young minds and hands active or helping build a float for the parade, working the beer tent or concession stand, the people of Indian Head – Milestone are busy.
I am delighted to be invited to take part in so many events throughout the constituency and I continue to be in awe of the imagination and time the people of Indian Head – Milestone commit to our communities.
No matter what challenges have faced Saskatchewan, as a people we are strong. We help neighbours and we stand together as a community. Even though life continues to change in rural Saskatchewan and more people are leaving to work farther from home, it is amazing that the commitment to community remains alive and well.
We have a number of things to look forward to in the summer of 2007. We can look forward to a good harvest. We can look forward to a summer of community events.
We can look forward to perhaps getting away to explore more of our own province and of course we can look forward to an election in the fall. Have a great summer!
