Brad Wall Summer Tour Ends

Saskatchewan Party Leader Brad Wall last week concluded his annual summer tour visiting many communities throughout Saskatchewan..

Many of you took the time to come out to events and visit with Brad and share your ideas and your concerns about our province. For those of you who had the chance to meet and discuss the state of the province with him, you’ll see that many of your concerns make their way to the Legislature in Regina.

The Saskatchewan Party believes in order to understand the province you actually have to get out and meet the people and hear what they have to say. It’s interesting that the number one question asked was ‘when’s the election?’. Brad’s answer was, “that’s not up to me”, but it’s clear that the people of this province want change. It’s also clear that the people don’t think Calvert’s NDP are doing a good job of governing Saskatchewan.

Here are just some of the concerns people voiced:

  • The need for a long term plan for infrastructure
  • The lack of resources for municipalities to develop residential and commercial lots
  • Crumbling highways, especially in the northwest
  • High property taxes, which result in Saskatchewan being uncompetitive with other jurisdictions
  • The shortage of doctors and nurses, which continues to result in lengthy surgical waiting lists and temporary hospital closures
  • A shortage of long-term care spaces for seniors

The other concern many people voiced was that they don’t believe Lorne Calvert and his NDP can turn Saskatchewan’s economic boom into long-term sustainability and growth. We in the Saskatchewan Party agree with that statement. To say the NDP are short-sighted is an understatement.

The tired and desperate NDP have run out of ideas so they have to resort to vote-buying or the same old scare tactics they use every election. You’d think after so many years they’d be able to come up with something new.
