Taking Inventory Of Our
Government's Record

Taking inventory is an important part of life. Every once in a while, you should look at where you have been and where you are going. With the conclusion of the spring session of the Legislature, our government is now doing just that. In 18 months, we have kept almost all of the promises we made during the last election campaign. Our government has accomplished more in a year-and-a-half than the NDP did in 18 years.

Our record includes:

  1. The only truly-balanced budget in Canada
  2. The largest income and property tax cuts in Saskatchewan history – providing $700 million in tax relief
  3. The largest debt reduction in Saskatchewan history
  4. The largest investment in infrastructure in Saskatchewan history
  5. New schools and nursing homes.
  6. We are fixing hospitals and highways.
  7. The largest increase in agriculture funding in Saskatchewan history
  8. Better Crop Insurance coverage and a huge reduction in farm property tax
  9. 100 per cent hi-speed internet and cell phone coverage for rural Saskatchewan within three years;
  10. Saskatchewan’s first Children’s Hospital
  11. The largest increase in population since 1975
  12. More young people staying in Saskatchewan
  13. More nurses
  14. More police officers
  15. More women and First Nations people in the workforce
  16. The most aggressive Graduate Retention Program in Canada
  17. Higher wages – Saskatchewan people are earning more and they’re taking home more of what they earn, thanks to lower taxes
  18. Saskatchewan leads the country in economic and job growth
  19. A more affordable life, through:
    • Tax cuts, which resulted in the removal of 80,000 low income people from the tax rolls altogether
    • The largest-ever increase to the Seniors Income Plan
    • By increasing the food allowance for group homes, funding for Community Based Organizations shelter rates, the Employment Supplement and the Training Allowance for low-income people
    • A new program for low-income program for people with disabilities

Under our government, Saskatchewan is a growing, vibrant, confident province. We are no longer held back by the backward-thinking and low expectations of the NDP.

With almost of all our promises kept, MLAs will once again turn to Saskatchewan people for direction. With almost our promises kept, we want you to tell us this summer what your government should be doing to keep Saskatchewan on the right track and moving forward.

After 18 months, we are just getting started.
