Legislative Report, August 3 2005

As Saskatchewan people, we are known for our warmth and hospitality and that has never been better demonstrated than through the summer of 2005. I have had the privilege of being invited to take part in centennial functions through the constituency and can we throw a party!!

Each community has chosen a different way to celebrate 100 years of local history, some host visitors, and others welcome family home, but the one thing that all communities have in common is that the turnout of visitors has been great. Towns of 200 have swollen to 600 or more and larger communities have hosted thousands.

Keeping crowds this size, fed, water and entertained takes months of planning and endless hours of volunteer work. And again, the people of Indian Head - Milestone shine with the dedication to their communities being nothing short of amazing. Even the weather was perfect. As we head into the latter part of summer, the people of Indian Head – Milestone will begin their fall work with great memories of friends and fun and a great job done.
