Legislative Report (28 June, 2005)

Summer is officially here, children have finished school and summer plans for fun and travel are well underway.

Over the past few weeks I have had the privilege to be invited to take part in centennial celebrations throughout the constituency. The people of Indian Head – Milestone are having a great time showing the country that their community has both an exciting past and an exciting future.

I have a lot of respect for all those who work so hard to highlight their community. Whether it be working on floats for a parade or making sure the crowds that come are watered and fed, or the months of work involved in developing a museum and other special projects that will be a memory of the centennial for years to come, these volunteers are giving, creative people and tireless workers. The rewards for these efforts are that visitors are showing up in droves and having a ball.

Throughout the rest of the summer, I will be attending events and enjoying everything these communities have worked so hard to showcase and I look forward to seeing you there.
