New China Meets The New West
It’s time to introduce the New China to the New West. In the first international trade trip for the New West Partnership (NWP), Premier Brad Wall, British Columbia Premier Gordon Campbell and Alberta Premier Ed Stelmach travel to Asia to promote the economic potential of Western Canada. This is the first joint mission since the three provinces formally signed the NWP agreement on April 30, 2010.
The trade mission will promote our provinces’ natural resources, clean energy technologies, innovation and competitive investment climate. The New West has resources the world needs, opportunities that global investors want, and the recently signed partnership makes accessing both easier.
Rider Pride
You can now display your Rider Pride on your bumper. In honour of the Green and White’s 100th Anniversary, our government and SGI have partnered to create a licence plate featuring the Rider logo and the phrase, “Pride Lives Here.” The plates will be available to purchase on an ongoing basis so that future generations of fans can also display their love for the team. Plus, any net revenues earned from the sale of Rider plates will directly support the Saskatchewan Roughriders Football Club.
Support For Vulnerable Citizens
Our government continues to take action to protect vulnerable women, children and families in Saskatchewan. We are providing $4.3 million in funding to nearly 20 community-based organizations and four northern villages for much-needed child and family services in communities across the province. This funding reflects the one per cent funding increase to Saskatchewan CBOs announced as part of this year's provincial budget. As Saskatchewan moves forward, our government is ensuring that our most vulnerable residents are not left behind.
