Good Work of Orange Benevolent Society

Recently, I was honored to be asked to take part in the closing ceremonies for the Orange Home in Indian Head. The Orange Home, which is run and funded by the Orange Benevolent Society, has been working with children and families for over 80 years. Generations of children have found the Orange Home to be a safe and healthy place to live and learn and these young people have grown into leaders in all walks of life. I was also honored to be able to present changes to Legislation during this spring’s session that would allow the expansion of the Orange Benevolent Society charitable works. As times and needs have changed over the years, the Orange Benevolent Society has changed with it. Recognizing the need for quality senior housing they developed Hayes Haven which goes a long way in allowing seniors to stay within their community in their later years. With the new legislation in place, the Orange Benevolent Society will be able to continue to assist both young and older members of communities as well as families that are in need. I was pleased to be able to play a small role in the further development of an organization that has been so important to Saskatchewan families.

Summer is now in full swing and it is celebration time throughout the constituency of Indian Head – Milestone. Although most communities celebrated the province’s centennial in 2005, there are many celebrating their own centennial this summer.

Check out my website to find out what events are happening in your communities.

Take part and enjoy your summer.
